Your kitchen is likely one of the busiest rooms in your home. So, keeping it clean is a must. Fortunately, you can clean many things in your kitchen with common items such as dish soap and white vinegar. Discover how to keep your kitchen in top shape using basic cleaning materials with the tips below.
1. Clean Your Cabinets With Mild Dish Soap and Water
You can make the exterior of your RTA cabinets look their best with the help of mild dish soap and water.
Prepare a gallon of hot water and put in three drops of mild dish soap. Moisten a microfiber cloth with this mixture and wipe down your cabinet doors. Using a microfiber cloth helps you to remove dirt and dust without scratching the surface of your stained cabinets.
Use the crevice tool attachment on your vacuum cleaner to remove crumbs, dust and stray potato chips from the corners of your cabinets. Your dish soap and water mixture is great for cleaning the shelves.
2. Clean Your Microwave With Vinegar
No matter how careful you are, splashes of soup, sauce and more end up on the walls of your microwave. A combination of white vinegar and water can make cleaning your microwave an easy task.
First, fill a glass measuring cup with two cups of water, then mix in two tablespoons of white vinegar. Next, put this mixture into your microwave and set it on high heat. When you see the mixture start to boil, stop the microwave and let it sit for about three minutes. The steam coming from the mixture loosens the gunk on the walls of your microwave, making it easy to clean with a soft cloth.
If you have a plate inside your microwave, be sure to take it out and wash it.
3. Clean Your Garbage Disposal With Lemon
Whether you use your garbage disposal every day or once a week, it can begin to take on an odor. Clean it the easy way by cutting up a lemon and putting the pieces inside it. Operate your garbage disposal for 10 seconds while running the water. The lemon pieces clean the blades while getting rid of the smell.
4. Wash the Floor With a Dish Soap Mixture
The way you wash your kitchen floor depends on its material. If you have vinyl plank flooring, mix a few drops of mild dish soap with hot water in a spray bottle to spot-clean your floor. This prevents you from putting too much water on your flooring.
Alternatively, if you have a kitchen floor of ceramic or porcelain tile, there are cleaning solutions you can purchase that are appropriate for these materials.

5. Clean the Garbage Can With Dish Soap
When making a list of kitchen cleaning tasks, it’s easy to overlook the garbage can. But, even if you have a plastic liner in the can, it can leak, creating an odor.
First, remove the plastic bag from the can. Next, use a sponge and a mixture of hot water and a few drops of mild dish soap to clean the inside. Thoroughly rinse it and dry its interior with a microfiber cloth. Wipe down the outside of the can with the dish soap mixture.
Before putting a new plastic bag liner into the can, put a few drops of vanilla or peppermint on a couple of cotton balls. Drop them into the bottom of the can. These give your kitchen garbage can a subtle, pleasant fragrance.
6. Clean the Refrigerator Shelves With White Vinegar
Before cleaning your refrigerator shelves, it’s best to go through and throw away any expired items. This makes cleaning the shelves a little easier.
In a spray bottle, mix three parts water with one-part white vinegar. Use this mixture along with a soft cloth to wipe spills and residue off the shelves of your fridge. Don’t forget to wipe its walls, floor and ceiling as well.
Remove the vegetable, meat and cheese bins to wash them with dish soap and hot water. Dry them thoroughly before replacing them.
7. Use Degreasing Soap on Your Oven Range Hood
Mix a few drops of anti-grease dish soap with hot water. Then, dip a soft bristle toothbrush into the mixture to scrub the residue off the range’s hood. Use plain water to remove any soap from the range before drying it with a soft cloth.
8. Clean Stainless-Steel Appliances With Dish Soap and Water
Stainless steel refrigerators, ovens and dishwashers take on dirt and fingerprints over time. You can clean these surfaces with the help of mild dish soap and hot water.
Mix one quart of hot water with one teaspoon of mild dish soap. Rub the mixture onto the stainless steel with a sponge, then rinse it with a towel moistened with hot water. Finally, dry the surface with a microfiber cloth. This method protects your stainless-steel surface while making it shine.
9. Clean the Top of the Refrigerator With Vinegar and Water
The top of a refrigerator is another area in the kitchen that’s easily forgotten. Remove dirt with a microfiber cloth and a mixture of white vinegar and warm water.
Wiping the top of the refrigerator with a duster or a microfiber cloth once a week can prevent dirt from building up.
